How To Research Your Wedding Vendors

How To Research Your Wedding Vendors

When assembling your wedding vendor team, there are certain steps you should take to ensure that you get the best possible team for your big day. These include searching vendor directories, reading online reviews, checking pricing and availability, and interviewing your favorites. However, if you want to go above and beyond, there are a few additional things you can do to learn more about wedding vendors near you before you even reach out to them directly. Here are four little things you can do to help you learn more about wedding vendors near you.

Look at real wedding features to see wedding vendors near you in action. This is a great way for pros to show off their best work and for you to see their work firsthand. Additionally, doing a simple Google search of your wedding vendor’s name and/or company name may turn up some interesting info, like whether the pro you’re researching has been quoted as an expert in local or national news articles about the industry.

One of the things you can do is check out wedding vendors on social media. By doing so, you can see more of their work and get a sense of their personality and work style. You can also get a sense of their most current work or images on their Instagram, which might not be featured on their website.

By viewing a wedding vendor’s social media accounts and real wedding features, you can get a sense of the other pros the vendor works with often. Knowing that a wedding vendor is well-liked and highly-regarded by other pros can say a lot about their personality and work ethic.

Another way to learn more about wedding vendors is to look at their awards and recognitions. While winning awards shouldn’t be the deciding factor in hiring a wedding vendor, it can be helpful information as you narrow down the list of pros in your area.

Lastly, it’s also a good idea to find out if a vendor is active in the wedding industry. This can mean belonging to local or national organizations, attending educational conferences, or frequent networking events. It shows that a pro is well-connected and interested in staying up-to-date on what’s going on in their field and learning from others. And if your vendor doesn't require a contract then you should air on the side of caution and make sure that you are working with a qualified vetted vendor. We hope these tips help you in your wedding journey.
